Several Common names are used in referencing sheet metal roofing. “5V” Crimp, “R” Panel, corrugated or agricultural roofing, face-fastened panels or through-fastened panels. Sheet Metal roofing is manufactured primarily from galvalume or galvanized steel in thicknesses that vary between 24 and 30 gauge. The defining characteristic of all sheet roofing is large panels (or sheets) of varying widths and lengths that overlap and have exposed fasteners. The fasteners are typically self tapping galvanized screws with neoprene washers driven through the overlapping portions of the panels, as well as in other strategic locations and into the roof decking and or purlin.
