The Steps In Between

"As it is in dealing with any situation in life, you can't get anywhere with out taking the first step."

  1. Call us  We are here to help, we can answer any questions you may have.  We can discuss the scope of the damage and help you decide what your next step should be.
  2. Free Inspection and Consultation   We will have an experienced and trained technician come out to the property and inspect the damage.  They will explain the extent of damage and the scope of work needed to repair it.  They can answer questions you may have and address any concerns.
  3. Insurance Consultation   If the scope of damages and repairs is going to be extensive, it may be necessary to file a claim on your Homeowners Insurance Policy.  Insurance Policies can be very confusing and it can be difficult for even a seasoned professional to decipher the policy language to determine coverages and deductibles.  We have personnel with years of experience in the insurance field to help you determine your coverages and walk you through the claims process.  (Please have a copy of your Homeowners policy available for to review with you.)
  4. Work Authorization  Great you have decided to choose us to beautifully restore your home.  We just need to complete the paperwork before we begin.
  5. Down Payment  Before we can begin we will need to collect a down payment for service.  The down payment amount will depend on the scope of damage or the amount of the deductible on your Homeowners Insurance if you have elected to file a claim.  Typically we require 50% of the deductible on Insurance claims and 50% of the total estimate on non insurance repairs.  These amounts will be deducted from the final invoice once work has been completed.
  6. Water Extraction  At this point we will be extracting all the water we can through various methods.  These methods include a water extracting vacuum, carpet pad removal, removal of any saturated drywall and or trim boards.  Manipulating furniture to access affected areas as well as packing up any personal property that has to be moved.
  7. Dry out  Now that we have removed all of the moisture that we can with extraction, its time to finish drying the structure and contents.  This process will involve the use of Dehumidifiers, Air Movers and other drying equipment.
  8. Time  Once all of the drying equipment is set up it will need to run for typically three days, depending on the severity of the moisture sometimes longer, a technician may need to come by daily to inspect and manipulate the equipment to be sure the structure is being properly dried.
  9. Adjuster  If you have filed a claim at some point during this process you will meet with your assigned Insurance Adjuster, he/she can then inform you of your coverage and how it will affect the water extraction and the build back of the damaged portions of the structure.  We are happy to be present when you meet with your adjuster if you wish, to answer any questions he/she may have.
  10. Equipment Removal  Once the structure has been completely dried we will remove our equipment and do a final inspection of the dry-out.
  11. Build Back  Now that the structure is dry we can begin putting everything back together.  At this point anything that requires replacement or repair will be completed.   Any Contents needing to put back in place or unpacked will be done.  Once this process is complete you will be ready to enjoy your beautifully home again.
  12. Final Inspection and Punch list  Once we have completed everything we will walk through everything together to make sure you are completely satisfied with our work.  At this time if anything comes up that needs to be addressed it will be put on a final punch list.
  13. Payment  Once all of the items on the punch list (if any) have been addressed and you are satisfied with the work.  we will require final payment for the remaining balance.

Mold Water is a necessary fuel for mold spores to begin growing into mold.  Mold can take on several forms that will damage property and can also create a serious health hazard.  The moisture must be removed as quickly as possible to avoid additional mold damage.

Rapid Extraction

In order to prevent mold growing.  We will extract all the water possible from the structure.  We then treat the entire affected area with an Antimicrobial Agent that will help to kill any exiting mold and retard any new mold from forming.  We then place equipment to begin drying the air and structure.

Collapse  Drywall is a very effective material at helping contain a fire from spreading for a short amount of time.  However, it does not like water, once it comes in contact with water it will begin to wick it up like a dry sponge.  The longer it is exposed the more moisture it picks up.  When this happens on a ceiling, it can cause the ceiling to collapse.

Structural Integrity

In addition to the drying process any overhead drywall that has become saturated will have to be removed immediately.  By removing the wet drywall before it collapses, this will help to create a safer environment for everyone involved.  This will also help to expedite the drying process by removing the wet material and exposing the wet substrates behind it.

Black Water

This stuff is just plain nasty. Black water refers to water that has come from a source other than tap water.  This can include sewage, surface water from flooding and even tap water if left untreated for too long.

Biological Cleanup

Removing black water from the premises is an arduous task.  Anything that has come in contact with it will have to be treated and cleaned or disposed of.  Due to the health hazards associated with black water this must be done thoroughly and correctly.
